  3. Colorwiz 1.0 by Game Tool Technologies, is part of an ongoing
  4. project to develop a practical and useful suite of Internet HTML
  5. authoring tools for professional use.  There are many "wysiwyg"
  6. authoring packages available today, and more on the way from
  7. such noted companies as Quarterdeck, Navisoft, and  Microsoft 
  8. among others.  All create basic web pages for the novice user.
  9. However, professional webmasters will almost all tell you that
  10. when it comes right down to it, when they have something serious
  11. to work on, they prefer to write code.  Those are the folks that
  12. the GTTweb package will be aimed at. We develop for the people
  13. that create style, not follow it.

  15. Colorwiz is the second of the GTTweb tools available for public use.
  16. (The first product, NetTools 1.0, is the GTTweb tools shell. It is

  20. HTML 3.0 , Colorwiz and You..
  21.  
  22. Colorwiz's purpose is simple.  Hypertext Markup Language (HTML)
  23. is the programming language used to render hypertext documents on
  24. the Internet Worldwide Web. As HTML has evolved, more and more
  25. "tags" have become available, increasing the technical capabilities
  26. and creative abilities of web authors.   As the HTML 3.0 standard
  27. is introduced, web authors now have the ability to render colors
  28. that compliment the theme of the text or graphic message they
  29. are conveying.  Colors may be specified for the background of the
  30. document, for links, visited links, active links and the text itself.
  31. In the raw form, these colors are dictated by the use of "Hex Code"
  32. that tells the individual PC to render a color in accordance with
  33. a 6 character alphanumeric string...not real intuitive...and not
  34. well done, if at all, by the "wysiwyg" suites.  The standard tag
  35. outline for color specification appears directly under the <HEAD>
  36. tag at the top of a web documents source code.  Example:

  41. How to use Colorwiz

  43. Each six character set is a color...in the case of #000000 the color is
  44. black...again, not real intuitive.  Colorwiz is a simple tool that allows
  45. the user to render virtually any spectral color and determine it's
  46. corresponding hex code.  Colors are determined by a mix of red, green and
  47. blue spectum colors.  These catagories are displayed as slider bars within
  48. the application. Moving a slider in any group will determine a color
  49. change and a corresponding hex code.

  51. Colorwiz allows you to save custom colors to a user defined pallette.  Simply
  52. clicking on "save color" enters the color to the color pallette bar.

  54. If you should see a hex code in viewing the someone else's source code, you
  55. can replicate the color with colorwiz by simply typing the hex code in
  56. the "current selected color".

  58. Installing Colorwiz

  60. Installation of colorwiz is easy.  All files are contained in a compressed "zip" file called
  61. cwiz1.zip.  This file contains the program executable, a couple of text files related to "legal
  62. stuff", and distribution, and a help file.   To install Colorwiz, simply create a new directory
  63. on the hard drive of your choice called  X:\colorwiz.  Unzip the contents of cwiz1.zip into
  64. the new directory and the program is installed.   You may create a new program item under
  65. windows 3.1x by selecting "File" under Program Manager and selecting "New" then a new
  66. item.  Browse the directory structure of the appropriate drive to find the "colorwiz" directory.
  67. Select that directory and highlight colorwiz.exe.  Thats all there is to it.  Enjoy.

  69. Installing under win95 is essentially the same, except that you may add Colorwiz to the group
  70. of your choice by simply dragging the executable file, colorwiz.exe, to the start menu icon.
  71. Drop the file there, and you have added the program to your start menu! No problem mon...

  73. Registering Colorwiz

  75. Colorwiz is Shareware, not Freeware.  It may be used for free during its 30 day evaluation period.  Registration is cheap at only $10.00 US Dollars per copy.  Site Licensing is available subject to quotation based on the number of copies purchased.

  77.  Note:  At the end of 30 days the Colorwiz evaluation period expires and the  unregistered version of Colorwiz ceases to function.  Please contact Game Tool Technologies for registration...hey, its only 10 bucks!

Colorwiz may be registered in a couple of ways. First, and easiest is using the  CompuServe (tm) SWREG facility.   If you are a CompuServe member, you may GO SWREG and register on-line.   Choose search within the SWREG facility using either Colorwiz 1.0 or zip file name, "cwiz1.zip" to search by application name, or Game Tool Technologies to search by author.   SWREG allows immediate registration by debiting your CIS account and notifying Game Tool Technologies of the debit.  Usually it takes CIS about 2 days to get around to this.  Once notified, we will send you a unique registration number to insert inside the application as directed.  Make certain to record your registration number.  It is the only one you'll get.

Colorwiz, may also be registered by sending a cheque or money order directly to Game Tool Technologies.   Cheque's will be accepted from US registrants only.   All funds should be made payable to Terry N. Goldman.  Payments should be sent to: P.O. Box 3698   Carmel, California  93921.  Please allow approximately 5 business days for reply.   All direct payments will be sent an email receipt via the Internet confirming your payment and advising your registration number.  Foriegn orders should be paid in guaranteed US funds only.  Regrettably Credit Cards are not accepted..they cost too much relative to the price we charge. Registered users will be advised of new product releases from Game Tool Technologies as well as updates to the Colorwiz product and GTTweb Line.
